Its Christmas Eve, you have no shopping days left, so if you clicked on this hoping for some inspiration for your loved ones, you’ll be sorely disappointed! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you have no time left. You do however have some time to make up excuses for why you’re an awful human who rocks up empty handed expecting to be fed and watered all day! Good luck with that! If you have everything bought and wrapped, and are feeling a little generous, why not give to those who need a little help? I’ve gathered a small list of those who do great work in helping out others all year round, but this is not to say there aren’t other equally worthy causes out there too. In the meantime, have a wonderful Christmas!

1. Over 100,000 children will be homeless this Christmas, and many, many more adults. Why not donate to Shelter, who provide specialist advice to families which could prevent them from losing their homes. Or you could give £22.29 to Crisis which reserves a place for a homeless person to have three hot meals, a shower, change of clothes and a health check. Worth it.
2. Refugee Action have been working for thirty years to help refugees arrange shelter, jobs and legal advice when they arrive in the UK. They also help to raise awareness in local communities to ensure they can work together to settle refugees. Donate now to help fund English lessons, emergency care parcels and much more.
3. In your post Christmas clear out, if you have any spare womens work wear please consider donating to Smartworks. They help unemployed women with a new outfit and interview technique advice to help get them back into the workplace. This service is invaluable to women who’ve been out of work for any length of time and can make the difference between securing the job or not.
4. If you or one of your loved ones is a teacher, you will know how overworked and underappreciated they are. Added to that they are expected to provide a lot of support to pupils that they are not trained on. Think2speak help deliver age appropriate guidance on matters than can be difficult to talk about, such as domestic abuse, self-harm or sexual health. They also provide training to teachers to enable them to better deal with these situations themselves. Donating will help them to continue providing their service and helping young people and those around them.
5. If you have any pets, I'm sure they won’t have been missed off your Christmas present list and will be utterly spoilt tomorrow. Spare a few pounds for those who have yet to find their forever home and help to make their stay a little easier. Donating to Dogs Trust will allow them to carry on providing the care that they do so well to those pups that need it the most.
Whatever you have to give will always be appreciated and will make such a difference to those in need. Nadolig Llawen!
